"You Wont Relent"-Jesus Culture

This song has really put into perspective Christ's pursuit of us and what our pursuit of Him Should look like.  He desires His Bride and He wants us all to himself, how beautiful is that?

Music Monday 03/12/2012

I've lost count of how many times I've listened to this song, but it doesn't get old. The news of who Christ is becomes more becomes more beautiful everyday as we seek Him out. His glory speaks in every language! So lift it up! LIFT IT UP! We know He is faithful, and He is worthy, this is who He is.

Don't Forget...

5 minutes for 7 days... The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, and He is so capable of making a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Nigeria!

"DON'T GO DO"

When Rob Shields spoke at our FCA last week, He used the verse 1 John 4:19..."We love because He first loved us."  We talked about how God can't love us more than He already does even if we have 29 quiet times and not just 2 quiet times a week.  We learned that it's not about that at all, it is about simply encountering God through your life and responding to that.  God simply wants us to be with Him who set us free, and then respond with that love that He loves us with already.

While Rob was  speaking, I was reminded of Moses' encounter with God through in Exodus 24.  Yes, God called Moses up to the mountain to speak to him, but do we know how God called Moses and what He said to him?  Exodus 24:12 reads, "The Lord said to Moses,'Come up to me on the mountain and stay here...'"  When this verse is literally translated from its original version, it reads, "The Lord said to Moses,'Come up to the mountain and be at the mountain...'"

God doesn't tell Moses to come up to the mountain and DO something.  There are no expectations placed on Moses by God here.  God simply calls Moses to BE so that he can be closer to God.  God did not mean for us to count up how many activities we do for Him each week or to count how many quiet times we have with Him to determine how we are doing spiritually.  He loved us first and wants us to encounter that love, and in response to these encounters with God, we will love with that same love He gives to us every single day.
